KEVIN:
Favorite kind of project: Something hand forged that imitates nature and looks organic.
Install day or shop day: I’ll be honest with you, the thrill of install days is gone for me. At my age, I like my chair in my office.
What was your dream job as a kid: Well I wanted to be the best professional kick-boxer, but it didn’t look like Chuck Norris was losing any steam so I figured I’d let him have it.
SUSAN:
Favorite kind of project: Radiused railings are my favorite. Watching the process and seeing how the solid stock gets bent is beautiful. It makes a statement! I love seeing the final railing regardless of if it’s modern or ornate.
Install day or shop day: I love going to projects on the last day of install to see the final result and the clients reaction!
What was your dream job as a kid: Airline Stewardess–I thought it would be a cool way to travel!
JOHN:
Favorite kind of project: Quick and easy ones. Nah, I’m just kidding. That’s a tough one… Can I get some water? *some time later* I like anything with complicated geometric patterns especially when we’re matching something that already exists.
Install day or shop day: Install day. I like seeing it all come together.
What was your dream job as a kid: A cartoonist. Garfield was my favorite, but I’m not proud of that. My tastes are much more refined. It’s The Far Side now.
VALERIE:
Favorite kind of project: My favorite jobs are the ones I’m good at. No but really, I love jobs that are hand-forged and creative. I like when I can get in a flow state and just create.
Install day or shop day: Shop day–but like a shop day when everyone else is on an install so I can listen to my music loudly
What was your dream job as a kid: I wanted to be a Medical Examiner… and to take over the family business, of course!
NICK:
Favorite kind of project: Metal projects. No don’t say that- one where I can learn something new.
Install day or shop day: Depends on the weather.
What was your dream job as a kid: A rock and roller, man.
ROBERT:
Favorite kind of project: Anything gothic or ornamental. I like stuff with all the bells and whistles. It’s hard but fun and it makes you go a little crazy.
Install day or shop day: Shop. Field. Wait. I really like to field fabricate stuff, but being able to come in jump right into it is also good.
What was your dream job as a kid: Drummer! I’ve played my whole life. I wanted to be a rockstar… Maybe minus the lifestyle.
BILLY:
Favorite kind of project: Anything heavy. Structural jobs that are big and heavy-duty like landings or stairwells. I love welding big shit. The bigger it is the more important I feel.
Install day or shop day: I’ll split ’em up. I like to be in the thick of it on install days though.
What was your dream job as a kid: Welding. I always wanted to weld. My daddy taught me from when I was 13. At my first job, I lied about how old I was to work on I-beams; that’s probably why I love the big stuff so much.
JOSH:
Favorite kind of project: I like interior and furniture jobs that require me to be more meticulous. It’s nice to slow down and really take my time.
Install day or shop day: I don’t mind either one. Interior install days do make me nervous sometimes-I don’t want to get anything dirty!
What was your dream job as a kid: I wanted to be a baseball player growing up. I use to paint some real hotrod cars though and that was fun too.
TROUT:
Favorite kind of project: I guess I would have to say I like to astral project.
Install day or shop day: As long as I have my blankey, I don’t care where I am.
What was your dream job as a kid: I wanted to be a stay at home dogter or a dog with a blog.
